iPhone 4 has flooded by a few hours the American market and there those who already have found the first manufacturing defects (we have already mentioned problems with the antenna): the various Apple Iphones, indeed, may display unsightly yellow spots on the edges of that multitouch screen.
The problem was due to accelerated production times, perhaps in response to great demand for devices by users. A chemical agent, the Z-6011 Silane, was used to seal the corners of the touchscreen. This essentially requires a proper process of evaporation, if not produce yellow halos on the surface which it is applied. Reducing the time of manufacture, it is difficult to determine whether the liability is Apple or Foxconn, do not allow this process of evaporation, thus causing this apparent lack of iPhone 4. Happily, though, there is no reason for alarm: just a few days of use to solve the problem because, over time, the chemical agent tends to dissolve. Solvable aesthetic imperfections aside, has not been very rewarding for people to discover how your phone, straight from the box, was already defective.
The wound, if we may so call it, the yellow spots should not affect iPhone 4, which is expected from mid-July, will be distributed in Italy. By that date, the manufacturing process should return to normal rhythm, thus excluding the possibility of reduced evaporation of Silane Z-6011. Read the rest of this entry »
