Apple Sell iPhones with Wi-Fi Enabled in China
China Unicom, iPhone operator, iPhone Wi-Fi
News came from AppleInsider that Apple is negotiating with China Unicom, the iPhone’s operator has a monopoly in the land of the rising sun, with bring to China the iPhone Wi-Fi enabled. If I remember, in fact, on 1 October 2009 the apple phones available in China with the inability to connect with Wi-Fi networks because of provisions of the Chinese government.
Since then, sales of the iPhone 3G, despite the initial boom, did not go so well, also because of the price quite high over the famous limitation. However now that the Chinese Government has withdrawn the ban on Wi-Fi, Apple and China Unicom are retracting to revise prices and rates in anticipation of the arrival of the iPhone without blocks of various kinds (hopefully). Negotiations will be announced in coming days.
The Cupertino cares about China and its market, hoping to make big business in a nation of over one billion populations. This was demonstrated even when recently announced the opening of 25 Apple Store in the country.
