iPad: No dashboard widget in first release ?

There was much discussion of the absence of dashboard widget in the official presentations of iPad, instead of small applications that are present on the iPhone, such as a calculator, clock, weather forecasts, stock quotes, and voice notes recorder.
Considering the size of iPad screen, some have speculated that all these applications could simply be the widgets dashboard in a phantom as in the Mac
John Gruber stated he had received from a reliable source according to which the iPad indiscretion, which will be marketed in less than a month with the firmware 3.2, will be completely devoid from these applications.
Apple obviously would have developed some versions of these applications to fit the iPad’s screen, as indeed we have seen for contacts or notes, but Jobs himself would not have given the green light for inclusion of any technical problems with these applications in the final version of the device, but simply problems related to the overall design.
Gruber stated that there will be no dashboard widget for iPad, let alone the infamous white key of the Keyboard Dock will activate these features.
It is hard to imagine the presence, at least officially, a dashboards, because as we also know the iPad is based on a paradigm of use without windows, to simplify the interaction with the device and applications.
Developers could then open up the opportunity to implement these iPad specifically for small applications, while it remains to be seen whether Apple would approve an application that somehow never replicate a dashboard.
